Exceptional Romanian Youth awarded at the 2015 Romanian Youth Awards Gala

The second edition of the Romanian Youth Awards took place in the European Capital of Youth, Cluj Napoca, on Saturday 14th of November. Gala was to recognize and award the achievements of young people from across Romania who have done and achieved exceptional accomplishments. Last year’s edition had 125 applications. In 2015 the number of applicants increased to 225. 17 awards from 10 domains were awarded: art, culture, IT, sport, environment, innovation, education, business, humanitarian, research and service.The awards given to the young people were signed by the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Youth and Sport, The Romanian Royal Household.

The best sports person – Vișănescu Daria-Ioana,
The best paralympic sports person – Olah Attila, Paraciclism
The best volunteer – Mihăila Mădălina Georgiana

Best educational project – „GROW”, Cristina Cojocaru
Best civic education project – ” Say it, pay it, think it forward. The blue print for a movement”, Tănase Andra
Best sport initiative – „Olimpiada sportivă a Liceelor Maghiare”
Best initative in encouraging volunteering – Centrul Cercetășesc Nocrich H.C. Habermann, Șutea Diana
Best humanitarian project – „Susține-le pașii”, George Moșoia
Best environment project – “O școală verde pentru comunitate”, Liceul Pedagogic Mircea Scarlat, Alexandria
Special prize for research – „Acoustic Device of limitation the accidental capturing of dolphins in piscatorial nets”, Brănescu Bianca
A special prize for the implementation of Cluj European Capital of Youth 2015 was given to SHARE Federation Cluj-Napoca for transforming Cluj-Napoca into Europe’s youth capital.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, through the Direction of Sport and Youth, Cluj County and Student’s House of Culture Cluj-Napoca, together with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Romania Foundation.
